General Safety Concerns
-Due to the patients inability to balance without using her upper body strength, rails and secure objects should be used in and around the home to minimize the risks of falls
-Obstacles such as narrow hall ways or passage ways should be clear of clutter and objects to allow for as much space as possible for her and her FWW to pass by
-Area rugs should be removed from the floors in the house to reduce the chance of slips and trips
-Patient should not use a step stool or ladder
-Patient should invest in a shower chair and handle rails in the bathroom
-Patient should not attempt stairs by herself
-Safety equipment should be used as much as possible
-Patient should not attempt to walk without the use of her FWW or any assistive devices
-Patient should inform physician of any felt or known heart arrhythmias or palpations
-Patient should not do activities that require a lot of bending or reaching movements due to her internal injuries in her abdomen
-Patient should monitor diet so excess stress is not placed upon her internal organs
