I've been meaning to put this one up for a while.

Lieutenant Kaffee: Colonel Jessep! Did you order the "code red?!!"

WARNING: LANGUAGE!
Lieutenant Kaffee: Colonel Jessep! Did you order the "code red?!!"
Judge Randolph: You don't have to answer that question!
Jessep: I'll answer the question. You want answers?
Lieutenant Kaffee: I think I'm entitled to them.
Jessep: You want answers?!
Lieutenant Kaffee: I want the truth!
Jessep: You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that Santiago's , while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall -- you need me on that wall.
We use words like "honor," "code," "loyalty." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it.
I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand the post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to!
Lieutenant Kaffee: Did you order the "code red?"
Jessep: I did the job I was --
Lieutenant Kaffee: -- Did you order the "code red?!"

Diesel, jonouoob, both of you are missing a point.
The war in iraq was a mistake made by an idiot that idiots elected. Afghanistan, we almost ignored it untill now. Im not saying that nobody has died there, im not saying lives havent been lost, what I am saying is that the attention we gave to iraq was and is being sorely missed in afghanistan.
We should be getting Ossama, crushing the taliban there, and leaving. Thats it.
Furthermore, being friends with anybody in no fashion whatsoever makes it agreeable to become violent towards another person/country. "We shouldn't give them freedom, they have to EARN it." Did you really write that? Whatever happened to being a HUMAN BEING and supporting others path to a happier and healthier life?? This is a group effort, the world heals together or people/countries suffer alone.
I never said 911 was acceptable. I simply said that our actions in the past gave those the motive to attack us. For decades the Iraqi people sat around and let themselves be dictated to. The afghan people allowed the taliban to control their country. I feel pity for the children but thats it. Being a human being has nothing to do with it. If that's the case. if the US is doing this for "human" reasons then why dont we invade N Korea or Iran? Oh maybe because they would actually put up a fight.
You are unable to grasp the point. You defend this motive like it's honorable. Being friends with your most hated enemy still gives no entity the right to violently force its views onto another. The United States of America supports a passive aggressive foreign policy. These countries are obviously fighting for their human rights and our assistance has been helpful as the French were with our Independence. Tell our fallen soldiers that Iraq and Afghanistan terrorists haven't put up a fight.
And one final note, to Mr. Jononutoob, your words, if you go back and reread them certainly defend anti-patriotism and sound unenlightened/uneducated. Nothing was simply stated and no clear supporting argument was provided. In conclusion, I would suggest to you to quit with some dignity and that any further responses will draw personal observations I have made and may embarrass you. Don't be that guy.
...Coming from a guy who has probably served a lifetime in the military defending and supporting that EARNED(!!!) freedom. That same guy holds himself accountable for his actions and is friends with everyone he has and does come into contact with. Speaking of the Taliban.. if you're original argument is true.. we supported them and that caused them to attack- holds absolutely no water. I can agree that some of our actions to WIN the Cold War may have had ripple effects but cannot condone 9/11.
