There was no massacre in the square. Western made hoax (see Wikileaks and Gregory Clark's research). There was however a bloody riot in the city (and it was not about democracy). Turns out Chinese governments account came closest to the truth. (Yet again, Western journalists proven as liars).

@SteelCityDucati Wiki is propaganda as well. They get it wrong way toooooooooo often. If 4th grade teachers in private schools won't even accept Wiki in a bibliography for a term paper.......there might be a problem with it:)

@whonotmeyou exactly!

@athlon866 haha wikileaks.......I am not supposed to trust my government or corporations, but anonymous people publishing documents they say are real I AM supposed to trust? stupid All 3 options stupid.

There was no massacre in 1989. Read Wikileaks and educate yourselves.

@laroger0 there's a large difference though.
this is China's history. American students study American history, so naturally Chinese students should study Chinese history. and most Americans now just don't care. they'd rather be on Facebook or something like that.

@CaptainRed lots of people disscuss this protest in china on the internet,except we just use codes, like may 35th,1989

im not sure whose propaganda to believe anymore....

@laroger0 Of course we have, because unlike communist china, we have access to ALL Wikipedia topics.

Why did the boy whisper "89" if he didn't know anything about it? Maybe they know exactly what it is but their afraid of what might happen to them if they say anything about it.

I lived in china for 6 months. When I asked my friends who are university students about it, only one of them knew what happened in 1989 and she had to explain it to her other friends who had never heard of it. It's not anything new for countries to forget their past when it's politically convenient
