Advertised as "The Prince of Wales' Favorite Fox Trot," this became an international hit for many decades after its 1928 début. Sophie Tucker's long-time accompanist, Ted Shapiro, was the composer, with assistance from publishers Reg Campbell and Jimmy Connelly.

  • Thank you for posting your lovely version of this song. My family and I have enjoyed your video of this many times!

  • Wow - I thought no version of this song could be as lovely as the 1928 Rudy Vallee version - but you've just proven me wrong.

  • WOW, love how you play the song. Ted Shapiro was a fine pianist and friend, JHS

  • I love this song. I even have this sheet music cover framed- hanging in my living room. I always hear "Belle Baker's" voice (in my mind) when i hear this song. I don't even know if she recorded it. Thanks Peter
