This trail goes up the all too popular Mariner's Ridge and down the all too popular Kuli'ou'ou Ridge Trail. However, not many people traverse the Ko'olau crest that lies between both of their summits.

The summit ridge in this section is not exceptionally difficult, as it follows a gentle roller coaster like action with maybe a couple stiff climbs but nothing one can't handle. Just be careful on the narrow sections as there are some pretty good size dropoffs to Waimanalo Town below.

After about 3 or 4 hours (some people claim they can do it in 2 hours), one will reach the terminus of the Kuli'ou'ou Ridge Trail. If you're feeling adventurous, you can continue beyond Kuli'ou'ou and head for Pu'u O Kona which sits another mile or two away and then head down it's ridge which will take you to the same trailhead as Kuli'ou'ou.

  • Is there a way around that "Pyramid" Rock? Do you have to climb it? Been up Mariners and Kuliouou but I wanna try this ridge walk from Mariners to Kuliouou with as little risk of falling as possible. And those sharp ridges you buggahz walk? Amazing! Awesome videos bro...keep it coming!
