Prior to the U.S. invasion, there were no Al Qaeda in Iraq. In the anarchy that ensued after the U.S. invasion, Al Qaeda moved in and established training camps in Iraq. Al Qaeda's numbers grew by the thousands, fueled by the anti-American hatred that the invasion only helped to spread. The Al Qaeda bases established in the wake of the U.S invasion have still not been fully eliminated in Iraq. The Iraq War has done nothing to stop terrorism. It has only helped to spread it.
