Fox 35 10:00 News interview with Richard Weinblatt regarding traffic stop by Hillsborough County, Florida, deputy sheriff. For more information www.policearticles.com.
why would they act like humans there cops iv'e seen these bastards blow through red lights at 60+ in a 45 to meet up with other cops at dennys for dinner
My beef with the cops on this one is that I think they often tend to view civilians as less than human, especially in a traffic stop. They are so concerned about not getting made a fool of, that they lose a little bit of their own humanity in perspective.
In the end result, would it be so bad if this chick "got away?"
I'm really not saying that the officer(s) in this specific instance were wrong, but I think in general, this video shows a lack od perspective.
We tent to forget that Police Officers are human too. The fact that the woman took off tells the cops that she might be hiding somethings, so their inital response was to grab her and possible find the goods. No one should out run an officer of the law. My only problem is that he could have been a little more gentle with her.
Clearly they both are guilty of poor judgement, first the lady for not explaining her situation at the first stopping point, then the officer for his unwillingness to treat a distaught person with the requisite respect (even though he was upset for her initial error). He compromised his professionalism after the woman did something everyone surely knows not to do ... for ANY reason ... flee an officer of the law.
The cop was an absolute jerk.
