Video Re-track of Time Zone's "World Destruction"
I edited this together in 1985 for play in Chicago's Club Medusa Video room. I present it here in its original form with only titles added.

  • I'll say I love this song, but what is missed from commentary so far is lack of praise for such a phenomenal and insightful video editing job you did, bravo, and to think this was in 85, this would have played nicely on a show called "Night Flight" or even "Liquid Television"

Thank you for making and posting this I enjoyed it immensely

  • @JahaysusKahrist Wow, thank you for your kind comment... I was in art school at the time at SAIC and ran the edited footage through an analogue video synthesizer...I wanted to contrast the nuclear doom with pastel colour. It was great when it played on the projection screen at Medusa"s people were mesmerized and always had great things to say about it. Thanks again, sorry for the late reply but youtube was not getting my messages to me

  • I heard this song on the Sopranos and had to find out what it was called. Thanks for uploading the video. Very real, a little bit morbid in a beautiful way.

    THIS SONG IS AWESOME! =D

  • I had the same experience as well with the Sopranos and was like... wow, I made a video to that...years ago of course

Thanks so much for your kind and perceptive comment..."morbid in a beautiful way" you have the exact words of what I was trying to convey!

  • Thanks so much for taking the time to comment it is greatly appreciated. I am glad you got a kick out of my old vids, makes it worth the effort!

  • I combined this trax with the audio from the movie 1984.

You can check it out here - mixcloud (dot) com/NTT/1984for-the-love-of-julia-part-i/

  • this video really takes me back to a time when things were simpler and in many ways far more complicated. I remember the first time I saw this particular video as if it were yesterday. I also remember the lambasting johnny and AB got over it. Panned as nothing more than shock value music and the like by the mainstream media who completely missed the point of the video and song versions in their intended context. it was and still is a stunning indictment to mans inhumanity to man and enviroment

  • Sweet.... crammin' in some "The Day After" footage... which was made-for-TV in 84, so really fresh at the time :-) I remember hearing about Medusa, even from down where I was in Orlando....

  • Remember having this on tape. Can't remember if I was stupid enough to tape over it or if it just snapped. I suspect the latter.

  • @joemichelli I also first heard it on the Sopranos!! I recognized John Lydon's voice, but also had to check out what it was. =]

  • What a great song that was, and so "of its time" then. The Reagan years produced some really excellent, politically-motivated songs. Frankies "Two Tribes" and "War" are other great anti-nuclear, political tunes.

  • Love this song. takes me WAY BACK to the days of Teen Clubs and when we were called New Wavers. OHh the fun of dancing to this. Love the 80's. Thanks for posting!
