We got that hope and change alright.

Looking back, it is clear that McCain would have given us that mushy middle and more of Clinton/Bush failed policies. Instead, Obama has given us EVEN MORE of what did not work in the first place.

Between Washington and Wall Street, the average American doesn't have a pray. The corruption is so blatant, it should be obvious to even the most diehard Obama supporter.

You know nothing whatsoever about the feelings of the people in Switzerland, etc. I live in the UK and I can assure you that the people here don't hate the welfare state or the NHS. If Mr Brown wasn't such a disaster as a leader Labour would still be in power. The only people who feel as you describe are on the extreme right, e.g. BNP, UKIP, etc.

@colourmegone I've heard that same argument many times. Too bad the countries you're referring to (so-called third world capitalist) are governed as a dictatorship, and not as a representative democracy. Secondly, UK, Germany, Austrialia, New Zealand, and Canada are suffering a great deal of financial austerity and political upheaval because just below the surface, their economic structure is unsustainable and the people are starting to hate it.

Well let's see, Switzerland, all the Scandinavian countries, the UK, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, etc. There is no such thing a 'free market' in any civilised country, only in the Third World and of course crime, particularly the international drugs trade, the last bastion of lassez faire. Capitalism delivers only for the wealthy (remember 'trickle down'?). Capitalism is simply the investment of wealth for a return, it has nothing to do with anything else.

The average US House rep gets elected by roughly 20% of the eligible potential voters in a given district - check us out - SPREAD THE WORD - there is someone like Adam running in LOTS of districts in the US -Find someone in your district or run yourself - WAKE UP - go door to door
