Great video. Scary with the car trouble

This was the same day as the tornado that hit my hometown of Oologah. The 20 year anniversary of it is next week.

"Think we're having a Maalox moment here!"--HAHAHAHAHA....your commentary is priceless, thanks for the well-shot video!
p.s. glad you didn't meet your "darlin'" tornado too up-close-and-personal that day!!!

at least you didn't have cows good

@Jamiesyme999 I had heard previous reports of people getting killed in a ditch while trying to take last-minute shelter in a ditch from a tornado as a result of being next to a vehicle. a ditch is a safe last-minute tornado shelter but it would be safer to leave the car behind you than next to you as far as possible.

one thing about going into a ditch just so anyone reading knows is that they need to get away from their cars if possible. Few cases of people going into a ditch right beside their car and the car rolled them

I am thankful everybody had gotten out of a bad situation of the car not wanting to start when a tornado was several miles away. it is not easy to follow tornadoes and storms but somebody has to.

I'd love to get tornado footage like this, especially as it's nearing I-35. Closest I got was the Quinter tornado of last year, but not with such violent motion as the Red Rock tornado had.

It was closer to Billings, but known as the Red Rock tornado. In Twisters! Natures Fury, theres time lapse footage taken by Robert Prentice put to music. Would you happen to know who made that song?
car trouble while a tornado is getting closer to your location, changing direction, coming towards you again and repeadily doing the same thing really makes a scary scene scarier. I would ditch the car if it gets too close, go to a ditch or nearby tornado shelter and wait for the tornado to go by.

Curious thing is my chase partner said his car never had engine problems before or after this day. The tornado crossed I-35 over mile-marker 200, about three miles south of where his car died so we were never in any real danger.
