Carmageddon 3DFX Preview [HD available]

Texture smoothing on
Draw distance is 250 Yon - beyond the normal limit of 50 in the options menu
The framerate is approximately 25, but it does fall when heavy scenery is in the view.

Once I get a newer computer, I am hoping for 60+ FPS while recording, with a higher draw distance. On the Glidos side, true 1280 x 720 dimensions and all texture issues will hopefully be fixed in a later version.

Carmageddon originally run in DOS and Win 95/98.

Whats your pc build and which emulator do you use? Looks awesome, i need it now! :D

@Someone89PL At the time it was recorded, I had a 2.21 GHz AMD64 CPU, 8800 GT card, 2 GB ram. It ran on the GliDOS 3DFX emulator, effectively running the game natively within the OS (though with Glidos' VESA emulation enabled).

looks great, what OS are you using? Is it 32bit? Im having some problems. Did you pay for Glidos?

@turusan02 I ran 32-bit XP Media Center Edition when this was recorded. Having Vista / 7 and/or a 64-bit OS currently poses some issues with Glidos, though it will still work with some changes. You cannot use the Windows / DOS emulation option under "DOS emulation". You will need to select the built-in DOSbox instead, which enables both emulators at once.

The main downside of this is heavy slowdown with even modern CPUs, due to the use of DOSbox, but it should run.

Carmageddon was created by Stainless not SCi, I hate it when people constantly get that wrong.

But Carmageddon running with glide wrapper crashes every time I trying to race 99 Fridge Racer and 93 Pit Stop.
