i first learned how to do this with my fingers i used to do friendship bracelets like that its alot easier with your fingers

i seem to be doing this backward... or upside down. my chains look incorrect until i turn them over, and the backside looks correct. this is my 2nd day of crocheting, and i am right-handed. any advise?

Your chain might be getting a little twisted. Keep practicing and you will get it.

yea totally, you know how to make a sweater either like i was looking at argyle vests and wasnt sure if you can make one by crocheting

You can make sweaters. I would suggest Google for a free pattern search. There are a lot of free patterns out there.
