And what are they going to do during all these little vacations throughout the year vs during the summer with more outdoor stuff to do? Who is going to watch the kids? What about family vacations? Some kids leave the country for over a month or go stay with other family members. What about summer camps and other programs.
BTW I support having kids in schools a little longer (about 200 days) However keeping the180 will these little breaks is pointless. Keep the summer break!

Stop screaming "Taxes" like your head is cut off.
Year around schools provide a way for lower income children, especially, to have continuous learning, other than a long, hot, and boring 3 months off.
After all, what are kids going to do over 3 whole months anyway? Go to the Bahamas with their preppy parents?

Studies over the years show no improvement in student performance in year round school vs the traditional calendar. However it does cost the tax payers more to run the schools air conditioning in the summer. Dont take away kids summer and give them at least two months off at once.
