The 1971 adaptation of Walter Macken`s novel, which charts the adventures of two runaways making their way to their grandmothers home in the west of Ireland. On the way they are pursued by their unscrupulous Uncle Hawk (Ron Moody). The score was by Roy Budd and included a charming ballad (The Far Off Place) sung in both native Irish & English by Dana. The suite contains.....Main title / Fiddler at the fair / The far off place / In search of a dream.

  • This is Budd doing lovely emotional work, unusually he didn't do an awful lot of this kind of stuff. It's much more uplifting and sentimental compared to most of his scores. Winner!

  • @RoofLight00

I always found his Kidnapped & Soldier Blue scores possessed the same emotional qualities`, though for the most part he tended to score a lot of action movies.

  • Friend where I can find this movie and dubbed into Portuguese if possible?

  • @baiano1212

You could try Play.com , Hope this helps.

  • Wow! Thanks for the upload, it's a great score by Roy Budd. I work at the Cinema Museum in London and tomorrow night our special is Ron Moody so I'm going to play this music in the interval. Cheers!

  • @DJPIMPMASTERJAZZ
