  • Actually, grunting tightens your stomach muscles, producing a stronger hit than normal.

  • i'm afraid to ask, but .. how do you know ? o_O

  • Some people are freaking STUPID. She doesn't grunt as LOUD as you can hear here. Don't you fucking people know MICS are all over the court? The girl who video this is STUPID. Maria has FAME, and you have none.

  • Her grunting appears to be a tad late. Maybe grunt right before hitting the ball or dureing, but her grunts seem late in the swing and bizaro.

  • @r7fronz racquet speed has nothing to in power...its your muscle and follow throuhj

  • You'd think that after all the abuse she takes for her "grunting", she would cut it out. That is why real men think tennis is not a man's sport.

  • @13NickO37 yeah maybee but you lose alot of energy doing it.

  • @GNARRRRKILL LOL you shouldn't be afraid to ask on youtube. If you don't understand something just ask but don't troll.

  • achoo

  • hahahaha how loud can she get when she's actually doing it??

  • @r7fronz

some people grunt, some people dont. and yes i have seen federer grunt on some occasions when he really needed the points. wasnt as loud but it still was a grunt. Grunting tightens your stomach muscles. When you grunt a great amount of air is released from your lungs. its just a habbit they get into. I for one dont grunt, but when people do, i understand.

  • Some people claim that there is no need to grunt in tennis. The racket isn't very heavy and neither is the ball. Therefore exaggerated, even normal grunting isn't needed.

On the contrary, grunting causes the body to breathe, which in turn causes stronger hits and keep your body in good condition.
