The fight never happened in Pride because of money. Tamura wanted more then Pride were offering!
Also this fight was not a work. If it was a work it makes no sense for Tamura to win as he already beat sakuraba twice in UWFi.
Tamura is a legend and so is sakuraba. watch the Tamura vs Takada match in pride and see how hurt Tamura was when he Ko'd Takada. Man was in tears! I think he would have had no problem putting over Takada if asked.

Pride sucked??? lol no. Tamura was in rings but he also had a number of fights in Pride. The Saku and tamura fued goes back to their UWFi years as pro wrestlers.

Sakuraba always challenged Tamura when they were in PRIDE, I think Kiyoshi decided to fight Sakuraba because he knew he had the advantage due to Kazushi's injuries
