In December 1988 an American Pan Am 747 Flight 103 was blown up over Lockerbie, Scotland killing over 270 onboard and people on the ground.
Former Libyan Intelligence official and Head of libya's airline secuity Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi was found guilty and served 8 years in jail for his alleged part in the crime. Libya's Colonel Gadaffi sent his own son to welcome Al Megrahi from U.K. custody, announcing that Britain had struck economic deals over Libya's oil.

  • You know,it's been a while now, since Megrahi's release....it was said that his condition had deteriorated a lot even then, yet he's still alive...makes me wonder if he really needed that cane.....

  • Megrahi went missing recently. People panicked because nobody knew where he was. Perhaps he was at a Fairground, on a Bouncy Castle, celebrating his freedom...

He does need the cane though, to beat off the foreign cameras and people who oppose his release...He also probably stores his medication and uppers somewhere in the tip of the cane. Seriously though, what gets me is with all the U.S. power and control to extridite McKinnon for UFO-tapping, the U.S. failed to nab a suspect of 250+ murders

  • this guy is free and has got noting to do with the explosion what so ever, it is the british goverment wants to steal the libyan oil with any way possible, tony blair and george bush should be at least in jail for killing the Afganis and the iragis, not 270 people but millions of people.

  • Jail Bush,Blair and all the other terrorists who have killed millions over the years. Al-Megrahi was already found guilty of taking part in the Pan AM bombing, he was released to make sure the the corrupt oil deals are done, not because anyone thinks he's innocent. There are also other countries doing deals for Libya' oil. It all smells of corruption whichever way you look at it. I saw an interview with a Libyan man who said Libya is in dictatorship, if you speak against Libya's Govt you die.

  • America getting upset about deals involving oil! Hilarious! Proof the problem with 9/11 was not enough Yanks died. Then we might not have had a war for oil... wait... huh?

  • Maybe it's because Britain + Italy have signed trade deals with Libya before the U.S corporates got a chance to get their sticky fingers into Libya's oil... It could mean that the U.S. will have to 'force' more oil out of Iraq,Afghanistan and Pakistan because Libya won't trade as much as the U.S wants?? Expect to see troop levels rise in the Mid-East, to safeguard the construction and exportation/exploitation of more oil from those regions- that's what has been going on for ages...

  • here in the US there is prison cell awaiting this guy. the prison cell next to it has a guy named bubbha who 6 foot 8 and has a 3 foot cock. he gets really turned on by libyans

  • @jesusxrist Except you forgot than many Americans were upset about invading Iraq. It wasn't like we were OK with that but only got mad when Megrahi was released.

  • Anybody who has regularly read Private Eye will know exactly why he was released. He didn't do it. It was Iran.

  • He's probably laughing behind that scarfe......
