This is a rare insight into the teaching style of Sheikh-ul-Islam Syed Hussain Ahmed Madani where he teaches a hadith lesson in Darul Uloom Deoband.
This lecture is in Urdu, unfortunately i dont have the resources to translate it. This is the best quality lecture i could find, and in contrast with others that are available this is far the best.
This lecture is part of the playlist called "Talks by various luminaries", click here to visit it: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?p=PL7A1EFAB15B9252C3
Hadhrat Maulana Husayn Ahmad Madni (ra) probably needs no introduction. He is among the senior khulafa (successors) of Hadhrat Maulana Rashid Ahmad Gangohi (ra.) He was appointed as Head Teacher and Shaykh al-Hadith of Darul Uloom Deoband after Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri (ra) had left the post. He filled this position for approximately 28 years. Prior to this, he had spent 18 years teaching various Islamic sciences including Hadith in Madinah al-Munawwarah.
Words cannot describe this Aalims sacrifices he made during British rule in Subcontinent. He taught Hadith for 17 years near the tomb of Holy Prophet (S.A.A.W) at Madinah Munawwarah. He was the man who used the hair of his beard to sweep the area around the Holy Prophets (S.A.A.W) tomb. He was the man who used to pick up the melon peels disposed off on the streets of Madinah, soak them in water and consume them and say: "This act is sufficent for my deliverance (from the fire of hell)" He was arrested with his ustad (teacher) Sheikhul-Hind Mahmoodul Hasan for taking part in the "movement of the silk-shawls" As he was being led away from Holy Prophets (S.A.A.W) tomb he burst out crying and said: "May the scenery of your Rawdah (tomb) remain shining, may the gate of Rawdah remain safe. May we also be awarded the devotion of Abu Zarr and may we be bestowed with the spirit of Bilal (Rad)"

@AlQuranWalSunnah
What did he accomplish in the field of hadith except by oppressing them, which the Arab Ulema refuted him immediately on?

@AlQuranWalSunnah ur forgiven, but dnt misunderstand me i aint showing hatred towards albani, nor insinuating slander or backbiting. this is not hate spreading just an exchange of opinions. i thnk wht u shud do is do more research on all scholars, n then possibly understand why the ideologies of albani's show more of an attack upon those who follow madhabs then uniting muslims together.

@AlQuranWalSunnah No condemnation is taking place, if i simply dnt find a person reliable due to facts, then i dnt need to accept his works - N this sentence i hav in fact written probably applies2 albani when it came2 doing taqleed..if u really take all the facts N understand it/u take sum facts N understand it -this really Is Not The Same Thing. u cnt ignor certain muslims handlin hadith N cre8n own tafsirs without knowledge, 1 shud stand up against the injustice being done 2the pious scholars

@AlQuranWalSunnah Think before you speak..do not compare a great Prophet to another person. If knew the history of the Prophet, Albani is incomparable to the Prophet. Nabi Muhammad (SAW) was known as the Truthful One and the Trustworthy One among the non-believers [before Islam was established openly], it was Abu Bakr [RA] who did not hesistate in revealing 2 the ppl that if the Prophet (SAW) went on Mi'raj then he did so. This is whr sum ppl believed and others disbelieved.

@AlQuranWalSunnah The fuqaha R qualified doctors N the muhaddiths R the qualified pharmarcists. the pharmacist provides medicine2 patients but may nt understand y doctor has prescribed such a medicine for the patient. the qualified doctor has both medical and pharmaceutical knowledge, the Dr. doesnt need2 provide daleel 4 his reason on prescribing such medicine-bcoz he is a qualified student of medicine

@AlQuranWalSunnah Slander can only be something that is not true and damaging to that specific person's reputation. in fact i am only inciting the truth. please answer the what you will do if ur operation was to take place by an unqualified surgeon, wud u take the risk?

@AlQuranWalSunnah and my opinion on albani is that he is of unreliable source. firstly unknown qualifications, no teacher of hadith, re-compiled sahih al-bukhari & adab-ul mufrad with only authentic hadith - which is confusing for many lay muslims today, and have created people to go a step further in criticising specific scholars among the As Salifus Saliheen.

@AlQuranWalSunnah There is no backbiting being involved here, just merely our opinion on albani. we r all entitled to our own opinions. I know many shuyookh of the present but i do not seem them an equal to or above the pious scholars of the past - this is what i directing my answer to you. for our own understanding, if you urslf find a person/scholar unreliable then you wud usually go find another scholar that is of reliable source - nd i know here both we can agree that this is what we all do

@AlQuranWalSunnah Can you imagine one day that someone is about to undergo surgery and he/she finds out that the surgeon has not been to medical school, and in fact is 'unqualified' [has no certificates nor ne records of being taught by a professor]. Do you think the patient will risk their own life for this operation?
If Albani had a teacher or some qualification then he might be a reliable source depending on what point of avenue he is coming from.
