Title: Audio Recording

* I guess I don't talk that much about capturing audio. It's not too hard, but you do need a mic and a way to connect it to your computer. There are many ways of accomplishing this for very little money. You can find more information about this in the Production-Now.com Forums.

* I had just opened my new Podcast Factory from M-Audio (refurbished so I saved 55%), so I decided to try an entire episode recorded through it. The audio pops that you hear are due to the inexpensive mic that comes in the box. The pen trick helped a lot, but there are still several pops.

* Audacity is great for simple audio recording and editing. If you want to get into mixing, you'll need to shell out some dough.

* I learned to put the slash marks on the script (one mark for each time you go back to the start of that sentence) while working as an independent contractor for Toshiba.

* I guess it's fair to note that "Normalize" will only achieve great results if your audio doesn't have major pops or loud parts.

  • Well... nice job but i have to make a correction... a pen is not the best way to prevent pop for words... you may use a piece of light cloth to 2 to 3 cm of the microphone... you can use a ring of wood to soport front this item...

  • great jobs!

  • nice video, i could hear you clearly and great information, cheers! 5*
