@brawyn777 That may work, but you probably need to treat them first to help them burn better.
Take 3 strips of heavy cotton string or yarn. Soak in a mix of 1 tbl salt, 2 tbl boric acid & 1 c water for 12 hours. Hang to dry. When dried, braid strands. Cut into lengths 4-6 inches longer than your candles.
@brawyn777 Next prime wick(s). Dip the wick(s) using a paperclip into hot wax until completely saturated. It will start to release bubbles when saturated. Remove from wax, pull tight, dip in water, lay on wax paper, dab dry w/paper towel. Fully dry on wax paper for at least 30sec. For stiffer wick, repeat wax dip. Stored in rolled up newspaper.
i had a hard time understanding what you were saying because you speak quickly, and your sentences kind of trail off to where i can't hear what you're saying. other than that, this was a good tutorial.
@peacelovehippychick Thanks. It was one of my first videos so I had a lot to learn still. Hopefully I'll do a lot better this year on them, if I can make the time!
@tuatahi You burn the candle within the glass. The only way to get it out would be to break the glass or when you're done with the candle. you melt it down in a hot water bath and start making new recycled candles.
for making homemade wicks, can you use braided yarn dipped in wax and hung to dry?
