The people making those comments are not buddhists, but again most people that call themselves (insert religion) don't fallow all the tenets of it, and in some cases, any of them. Not a buddhists but like most religions, I don't hold their beliefs against them, but I will hold their throwing their beliefs on the fires of their hate or greed.

All existence is go-nowhere-do-nothing whether Buddhist or otherwise. You got it right when you said it's all meaningless anyway. Smart phones or computers offer only fleeting solutions. Whats the use of technology when you are close to death. As someone said when U are about to die u don't go thinking "well I did well at my job" BTW. Buddhism says only those interested in a solution should practice (monks etc). Others are free to lead a normal productive life inventing stuff etc !!

Research Buddhists contributions to society. There's not much to look at because Buddhism is the go-nowhere-do-nothing religion. It's all meaningless anyway, or so they say. If the world was Buddhist you certainly wouldn't have any smartphones or computers. Just sayin...

@ptij0404 Well, you found the wrong buddhism. I`ve been exploring buddism myself for years now and I`ve never encountered any superstition.

@ptij0404 Yeah. Similarly with bullshit nonsense like astrology. One of my friends, who claims to be an atheist, is into astrology, and other "chakra" nonsense. She used to love it when I would rail against religion, but as soon as I turned on her own brand of superstitious nonsense, she starting disliking it. She basically wants different standards of evidence for religions and for her astrology/chakra nonsense, and I refuse to give her that.

Well, that means science has no explanation for why the universe exists. Buddha did not try to explain it either. He just analysed it from the point of view of a philosopher and said this is what I think of the state of the universe and those existing within it . If you like study my theory and see whether it is believable. That's all. There is no compulsion in Buddhism. Take it or leave it. He never said I know the truth. He was a psychologist at best

@zenorac The point being that reincarnation is not a Buddhist teaching. And karma is not understood by those who become fond of the idea of "payback" and fail to look deeper into its meaning. To truly become Buddhist, one must read the teaching and understand them and not just use them as status quotes on social networks. I hope that makes more sense. And posting angry responses would not be the act of a practicing Buddhist.
WARNING TO EVERYONE WHO OPPOSES THE AMAZING ATHEIST: You don't know who your messing with, this guy is omnipresent and knows everything. He knows everything about Buddhism as well as the exact chemical composition of your farts. He cares about nothing but the truth!! HE is as brutal and scary as hell!!!! RUN SCREAMING FROM THIS GUY!!! He will destroy every illusion you ever had!!! Your not the Buddha!!! You need shelter from the absolute truth!!! Come to Christ or listen to "Stairway to Heaven"

The Buddha said, “Oh, Bhikshu, every moment you are born, decay, and die.” He meant that, every moment, the illusion of "me" renews itself. Not only is nothing carried over from one life to the next; nothing is carried over from one moment to the next. This takes us to the Three Marks of Existence, in particular anicca, "impermanence." The Buddha taught that all phenomena, including beings, are in a constant state of flux -- always changing, always becoming, always dying.
