This video fails to address the identity theft that gold farms are involved in. Hacking player accounts is illegal and players that are foolish enough to save their credit card information on a "secure" master account can loose more than their virtual goods. There are millions of homeless, starving people through out the world and that do not resort to criminal activities to make a living. I feel about as sorry for Chinese gold farmers as I do for Nigerian e-mail scammers.
if it was the difference between not getting paid and making ends meet. in fact i know most people would do that if in that position. all im saying is just... think before you speak. one day you might be in a position that's similar to theirs. Calling them chinks, and insulting them because your butthurt that you lost some money because of a reckless decision you made to buy from a site that you were not sure if it was trusted or not, not that shows some serious ignorance and immaturity.
Ive noticed a lot if ignorance in the comments on this video. And a LOT of racism. The thing you must understand about gold farmers, is that its a business to them. and like any business it can be shady, or not. See, i met my wife in the united states and shes Chinese American, but her family is originally from china. When we visited china i met a gold farmer while i was there and became intrigued at the idea of someone paying another person to play a game for them. So i talked to her often...
and the more i learned about her situation the more i started understanding why she was a "gold farmer". her boss was a man from canada and owned a website for the buying and selling of items and gold in various online games. as i did research on the prices and compared it to her wages, she was being paid roughly 3 percent of the money he made. that's a 97 percent profit off of someone else. when i asked her why she did not quit and find a better job, she explained that she needed the money and
that finding another job was hard to come for her. she lived alone and lived off of a meager 110 dollars a month. that's right, i live off of about 2700 American dollars a month and still struggle because of college bills and being married and rent and all of that. she lives off of less that 150 a month. and if she did not meet a certain number of gold every 2 weeks, she had pay docked from her. pretty much they took her pay and had her work longer-days to make up for the lost currency.
so to be honest with you, its just a way of making money for them. they are not soulless or any less of a person than anyone else. they just live in an overpopulated country and its a means to get by. ever worked a job you disliked? but needed the money? wal mart? mcdonalds? anything? same thing. and some farmers are crooked. they will do bad things like steal from players to stay ahead. but i think you would too.
