Dateline: 'Victory to the Vestas Workers Occupation' Solidarity Demonstration, Department of Energy and Climate Change, No.3 Whitehall Place, London, UK, 18:00, Wed 22 Jul 09 -- Scores of sane people protest against the insanity of the UK's first ever Energy and Climate Change Minister Ed Miliband spouting pious promises on greenhouse gas emissions reductions in Parliament while allowing the UKs only wind turbine factories to be scrapped on a bosses' bean-counting whim.

"I give my full support to the Vestas workers and the occupation. They are a fantastic example to us all and they deserve to win this important battle for green jobs. I will be promoting their campaign from the stage on my American dates and will do all I can to generate support and solidarity for their fight."
~ Billy Bragg

  • We need a State bank to underwrite manufacturing investment. Out with the BERR which is a regulator to regulate UK Manufacturing out of existence. In with the DTI to support UK Manufacturing Breakfast Dinner and Lunch. Key manufacturers have been wiped out under Labour's Malgovernance. The Government's Open procurement Policy has been the best thing ever for foreign Manufacturers. The Government's slogan might as well be "Buy German". Actions speak louder than New labour's Bad Wind words!
