  • I like the version that Richard Barrett sings with the Shirelles.

  • @DickAllen4HOF Richard Barrett and the Chantels. Richie did three different versions, two w/ the Chantels & one w/ the Chantels with a male group added, that's the best version besides the Chosen few.

  • ahhhhh, Brilliant !!!!

  • Terrific version but I am stil partial to Richard Barrett and the Chantels.

  • This is such an amazing find. Harry Jerolman was my next door neighbor. I remember going to many practices and following them to local gigs on the weekend. They often played at the Sherri Shack in Branford. I will never forget the day that Harry got his Hammond B-12. What a flood of great memories.

  • My favorite versions: Richard Barrett & the Chantels and Tony Rice on Princeton (with both a male and female vocal group). I find this a bit "overheated."

  • @wilkiehouse1

The drummer and lead singer is Bobby White

  • richard, it just keeps getting better

  • Very nice job and I can see the Rascals take on Barrets tune-truthfully the Rascals were a "bridge" group too in many ways-Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore is one of those songs that bridged the old sound with the (then) new sound(soul/garage) which the Rascals became famous for.
