A major problem with EU militarism (which is interventionist as is clear from Chapter 2 (TEU) of the Lisbon Treaty) is that although it allows neutral countries to opt-out (although the word 'neutrality' is NEVER used in the treaty) with "structured cooperation" a military alliance can form as a European force acting in the name of the WHOLE Union.
So neutrals have an opt-out not to go to war, but cannot tell the others not to wage wars on their behalf.
