12 suspended officials are finally sacked

At least 12 managers at the National Water Corporation have now been fired, following the loss of billions of shillings at the parastatal. The twelve were among a group of nineteen senior officials who were sent on compulsory leave after the scandal broke out. The remaining seven have been sent on forced leave. And as NTVs Dennis Onsarigo reports, the corporation suspended managing director remains in the spotlight.

To discourage corruption, the thieves should be fired, jailed and all their assets confiscitcated to recover the stolen funds.

The Kenya gvt is just encauraging theft by firing these thieves. The guys invested and will be enjoying the tax payers money. What happened to Kamiti prison? They only jail people with petty offences instead of the big fish. It must be very crowded.

These people need to go to jail forthwith. We as taxpayers cannot keep on condoning these people to fleece us without any punitive actions. What message does it send to public officers?? that they can steal as much as they want and get away scott free just by being fired.
