Body and Soul is a popular song written in 1930 by Edward Heyman, Robert Sour, Frank Eyton and Johnny Green. Rising quickly to popularity, Libby Holman introduced it in the revue Three's a Crowd and it was used as the theme to the 1947 film, Body and Soul.[1] Like many pop songs of the time, it became a jazz standard, with hundreds of versions performed and recorded by dozens of artists.

  • Last month I saw the original movie on cable TV. This piece was rendered by a choir. Wow, how different and simply beautiful you have made this into. I'm very, very impressed. You are gifted, thank you.

  • if you that piano could be in tune! besides that, it's great playing!

  • Nice, spontaneous "go for it" attitude.....!

  • Very nice!

  • this is really good! what are the chords for the intro?

  • The title should be "Out of Body and Soul" improvisation using the "out sound".

  • You're an amazing pianist and I can only agree with the comment below.

  • This is "outside playing" as its best! I would say this is the modern jazz standard! Not many on youtube can do this!
