The Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad is one of only a few electric interurbans in the country. It runs between Chicago and South Bend, Indiana using NO diesel fuel! This clip shows it leaving a spur from the Michiana Regional Airport and re-entering the main line on the west side of South Bend. July 22, 2008.

  • It is a pity we do not have a equivilent line in the United Kingdom. The nearest we had was a line between Grinsby and Immingham. This is run by British Railwaysw and closed in 1960.

  • @MrZkr123 Amtrak is contracted to run on the adjacent Norfolk Southern, not SouthShore. Besides it would be a nightmare to run Amtrak during rush hour!

  • they should run amtrak run on the electric lines here i'm pretty sure there are enough people
