SBCC Concert Choir at Kylemore: "Sure On This Shining Night"

The Santa Barbara City College Concert Choir presented their forth and finale concert on their 2008 Performance Tour to Ireland organized by Incantato on Thursday, June 12 at the magnificent Gothic Church at Kylemore Abbey. The singers under the direction of Nathan Kreitzer enchanted the audience with their full program titled "Songs of the Old and the New World".

Conductor, teacher, and composer Z. Randall Stroope is professor of music and Director of Choral Studies at Rowan University in New Jersey. He is also artistic director of two summer choral festivals in Europe, in Somerset (England) and in Rome. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dr. Stroope holds a doctorate in conducting from Arizona State University and a master's degree in vocal performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He was awarded the American Choral Directors' Association 'Raymond Brock Commission' for choral composition in 2004. The atmospheric Sure On This Shining Night is one of his best-loved works.
