  • Well done! I didn't even know what a Filipino looked

like until I got to boot camp (1968) and almost half

our company were Filipinos. Then my first duty station

was Naval Communications Station Phiippines. I ended

up marrying a Filipino so have a lot of connections

to the Filipino community. Great job telling your

family stories here and best of luck to you all.

  • my familt has a similar story. now im joining the navy too. I cant wait to get to bootcamp.

  • I saw the first episode but the audio has been disabled. I am living in the Philippines. Maybe the government blocked it.

  • this did show for the Cinemanila film festival maybe 2 years ago.

  • hin na no

  • Ang ganda nito sa totoo lang, perhaps we can air this here in the Philippines. there are so many with similar stories... it would be a nice thing perhaps around veterans day?

thanks for telling this story so well...

  • oh ok!!! tnx..... PINOY!!!

  • grove005. I enlisted in the US Navy in 1987 not here in the US, but back in the Philippines under RP-US military bases agreement. That treaty was abrogated in 1992 and since then no more pinoys are recruited in the Philippines in the former Subic naval base. And after Chapter 61 retirement in 1997 decided to stay here in the US and up until now I dont have a green card. I agree with you. I dont know how illegal aliens here in the US were able to enlist in the military.

  • You can't join a Military here in the USA if you're a TNT.... Because you nid to be a citizen bro.... You kidding me!!!
