I use Pulse Smart Pen for school and it works great. How about the same concept but on the iPad. Well, an app called SoundPaper does exactly that. It will record audio and allow you to take notes. When your done just tap on your notes and it will jump to that point of the recording. Here is a demo of both Livescribe (the desktop application for smart pen) and SoundPaper in action.

  • Very good comparison. I'm thinking ti buy both the iPad, and the smart-pen. Both are very intuitive.

  • smartpen pros:

-better sound quality (obviously in the vid)

-can take notes freely (mathematic notes are hard to type via ipad)

    -cheaper than a pad

    ipad pros:

    -cool and stuff

-can do loooots of other things except taking notes

-which probably makes it more worth spending money at for some people.

  • @7hElit3 Why is it that much better?

  • Which do you find better? I'm thinking of getting either a livescribe pen or an ipad for lecture notes. Which has the better audio?

    Thanks
