(My tribute to one of the best actresses & Martial Artist in Kung Fu cinema)

Angela Mao (born 20 September 1950) is a martial arts film actress best known for the string of kung fu films in which she starred during the 1970s. She is also known as Mao Ying, Angela Mao Ying, and Mao Fu Ying. Mao is nicknamed Lady Whirlwind and Lady Kung Fu by her fans.

She trained in hapkido, kung fu, tae kwon do, and other forms of martial arts during her film career to prepare for her movie roles. She was paid $100 for her short role in the feature film Enter the Dragon.

She married Kelly Lui (Yee Shun Chee) in 1974, and she gave birth to a baby in 1976. Mao retired from films in 1982 to devote herself to her family.

  • was she played as bruce lee sister in enter the dragon?

  • Angela Mao was an innovator: she was Chinese yet studied a Korean style that was little known in the early seventies in the West and also was ahead of her time by being a female martial arts star. I'm sure Cynthia Rothrock must have been inspired by her.

  • Cool video, well done for making it! Around 1:04 which film is that from where she has sword, I've seen many of her movies but that one I don't think I've seen. Maybe just maybe someone like Tarantino will call up Angela one day for a role!
