It doesn't matter whether it's a fumble or not. You have every ref on the field indicating forward pass or incomplete pass. ND players stop because every ref is waving it off. For the review officials to declare it a fumble, after the fact is bizarrely unfair to the players playing the call of the officials at the time. You might as well change the rules in the middle of the game.

What a horrible call. Not why we lost, but it was probably worse than the 2007 Grimes touchdown vs. Stanford.
