Not too shabby of a guess. Here is my educated guess on the future:
1. Stock exchange crashes similar to 1929
2. Rumors of shortages on cash sends the masses to withdraw their deposits
3. Banks close due to high demands of withdraws.
4. Federal Reserve further deflates economy.
5. Financial emergency declared (marshal law)
6. USA, Canada, and Mexico merge under one currency.
7. China invades West Coast of U.S. & Russia invades East Caost of U.S.
8 World War III
9 One World government

MaxWatt, you got a point there. Cash is NOT where you want to be, in any case. However, you can't eat gold and silver either. It could turn out that non-perishable food and water are more valuable than any of these. I hope I'm wrong! :) It's like bein' in a flood, you never know how high the water's gonna get.

Cash??? gold is going to go way up the DOW and gold will meet somewhere around 5,000 to 8,000.
The cash will be worthless and hyperinflation will most likely take place.
Even Silver would be better than cash.
Get your guns ready and keep the powder dry.
