The Disguises - Teenage Years

This song is the third of three recorded at a recording session back in July. The music was written by Nathan Robinson and the lyrics were written by Liam Thorpe. The song features the usual line up of Dylan Parnham on drums, James Allen on bass, Liam Thorpe on guitar, Nathan Robinson on guitar and Jack Michael's vocals. Please comment and rate and some feedback would be appreciated, bearing in my we think this song doesn't sound complete yet and the mixing isn't great. If we were to record a full album in the future, we would no doubt come back to this, be yourself, trouble and come together. There is no video for this one, but we will be making some videos soon of some accoustic performances for you all to enjoy :)

I've been listening to this song over and over and I can not get bored of it. Just want to say that I think you guys are brilliant and yeah I know I've been posting stuff about you guys a lot but I just think you're great and I hope you make an album one day <3

Nothing wrong with the mix, except the bass should be dead center rather than panned right or left. You lose the whole bottom if the bass is not dead center. I think the chorus is brilliant... very strong. But imagine if the verses, rather than being sung on two notes back and forth.. imagine if the verses were spoken (instead of being sung) and with much expression, as a storyteller might do. I think that chorus would sound even better following spoken word verses. Worth a try.

@CastleOfThoughts yeah, we arn't too happy with the mix on this one, kept insisting the bass wasn't right, but it ended up staying, there was a little too much panning going on. Not happy with the snares either, they sound a bit ugh haha, but we were doing all this on budget, we got this trouble and be yourself for just £160. We could try speaking the verses see what it sounds like!

If there was something obviously bad about the mix I would be happy to point it out - but you clearly have a good idea about how to mix - I thought I'd like to hear the intro slowly panning, and I thought there was too much panning throughout...I'd prefer to hear the Bass notes more clearly...but I like that slight roughness to the mix, it has a "live" feel to it that I think suits the track...and I love the sound of the lead Guitar...that's what I think but your ears are the ones that matter...
