  • @Omnigeek6: Apparently the laws of physics allow an object accelerated to 20fps to travel that far in the air. It's called momentum .

Also you need to add the forward speed of the bot to the spinner tip speed.

Also the rotary flipper blade is made of spring tempered steel so it flexes and can provide a little more than 20fps when it springs back after initial impact.

  • does this place have heavier, more badass bots like battlebots or robot wars? robots that weigh 150 pounds and more

  • @itube141 No. However, they do have 1 and 3 pound bot combat in an enclosed 6x6 foot arena where highly destructive weapons are allowed.

  • @sponge212 where can i go to fight 100 pounds + robots?

  • @itube141 I keep getting error try again when I attempt to answer.

  • @itube141 Ok, YouTube really won't let me enter any thing that even remotely might look a URL so I'll just have to say Google "builders database" and also combots.

  • This seems incredibly dangerous; regardless of what fps it is, all I see is some robots flying out fo the arena and nearly hitting hte spectators.

  • @sponge212

    Ahh. I see my mistake:

I assumed that since the spinning mass was much lighter than the other robots, they would be launched at much less than 20 feet per second. I forgot to take motor torque into account. I apologize.

  • awesome robots awesome fights 5* :D

  • Was that freddiew?

  • All right, I'm confused. The rules for this event say: spinners can only have a tip speed of 20 feet per second.

So, explain why in this video I saw a vertical spinner toss an opponent into somebody outside the arena... twice?

  • I don't know where do you see robots? I only see remote control vehicles

Robots should drive and make decisions without outside influence.
