Andrew Bird - "Imitosis"

Yeah, dude. I'm pretty much 95% metal and I heard this song on some music show at 3 am and fell in love. It's fantastic.

I saw this guy on my kids' favorite show (Jack's Big Music Show) and decided to YouTube him. I'm usually a Black Metal and Death Metal guy, but this song is incredibly odd and wonderful.

Andrew Bird has adapted and evolved this same basic melody into several songs during his career, including "I" "Skin" "Skin is, My" and finally this one, so I've always thought of it as "I-Mitosis" playing off of the original title... but honestly, who knows what's going on in his head?

I have heard this riff in some admusic I think... a tv commercial spot believe...

y the way I think the drummer in his band is a fantastic percussionist...

And Andrew has a great sense of melody/rhythm/tone... To take that away from the buy would be blatant bias...

I can still hate his archetype though all I want!
