What a fantastic song - It moved me to tears. What an absolutely underrated singer/songwriter Melanie is. Too bad she will be long gone before mainstream R&R realize how important her contributions to music - as we know it today - are. Where would the likes of Cheryl Crow - The Dixie Chicks and countless others be if it wren't for Melanie - Joan - Carly and Carol? And why is Melanie the one who is "on the outside looking in"? Go to Europe and everyone knows her name.

no melanie is not underrated otherwise she wouldn't have been beyond famous back in her day.however what you were trying to say she's not like the human trash of today. taking off her clothes to make it like 95% of the garbage singers of today peace if you will.cheers the total other.to remind you she had many number one songs that she has written the words to.hjowever she had no time to rest between 1968 through 1978.still singing writing songs and still kicking ass.
