On August 15, 2009 the newest addition to the Ballston Spa Fire Department, Union Fire Co. #2, ETA-143 (2009 Pierce Contender) gets drenched in a traditional "wetdown" ceremony to welcome it to the department. Old ETA-143 (1970 Mack) was included in the ceremony as well. A Special Thank You to all who participated to make this event possible... BSFD Eagle Matt Lee Fire Co. #1, Malta Ridge, Rock City Falls, Galway, Harmony Corners, Burnt Hills, and Round Lake Fire Departments.

@spydermaan2 a wet down is a tradion in the fire department, when ever a new pumper would be brounght to a fire dept they would have to transfer the water from the old apparatus to the new and during so the new would get fairly wet
