Beautiful engine----may be a good idea to get that piano tuned as well. Keep up the great work!

great Design and Work, but the piano is totally out of tune :-)

Just in case anyone else is wondering. It's NiN album Ghosts. The piano is out of tune a little on purpose, to reflect oddly on past great hits and moment of the band. Great album. And cool little engine in the video.

Very beautiful, not sure about the gold plating though. Nice uncluttered forms.Love the glass crank case end cap.

beautiful design!

I think you will find that the dissonance is intentional. I think it's from the NIN album "ghosts"

who cares about the piano's b flat string lol.
This is a v gamma type stirling engine with displacer cylindar on the left and a piston on the right. the piston is top loaded with pressureand vacuum.
good question

the piano playing isn't that bad, the piano is just out of tune
you know what i think the out of tune piano is great! it gives a wonderful emosional diminsion to the song, was that an official song or was it someone you know that played? either way i love piano playing of this style and would like the info about it

No, the Ross Yoke linkage is not the same as a scotch crank,
Sometime I will dismantle the engine to let you see the insides. :)

boy that thing is tiny.
is that a single piece block (piston housing)? how did you machine that?

The crankcase body is a brass fabrication
Three separate parts silver soldered together.
The bearing housing and rear cover are screw cut and tightened with a pin spanner. All bearings are ball race,
Best regards.

I have built a few Stirling engines, but yours is a great design. Are there any plans avaliable? Or a sketch or even a picture of the parts before assembly? I really would like to buil something like this.
