When I first saw the ending to this, I was sooooo shocked that EVERYONE literally died. I guess they wanted to continue the twist endings, and it's brilliant.

Yeah, because a nuclear bomb only kills the people in the room when it detonates. Anyone outside the room was totally safe.

Probably his fees, Charlton Heston was a big name back then, his screentime probably didn't come cheap.
