  • Listening to Glenn is bliss.

  • With all due respect to S. Richter (and I mean it sincerely), Glenn Gould has a much greater affinity to Bach's works imho. Where Glenn's melodic line is fluid and like a soulful song, Richter's recording of this work available on YT sounds like a made-in-Russia, high-speed, noisy shredding machine. What I find amazing is that the Ottawa Orchestra conducted by Thomas Mayer accompanying Glenn, a relatively unknown assemble, does a superior job to the star-studded orchestra accompanying Richter.

  • I believe the Ottawa orchestra could not help but be elevated in their performance when playing for Gould.

You are correct. Gould's niche is in baroque music, while Richter's is in late classical/early romantic. Both are extraordinary pianists, though.

  • Do you hear how he caresses the notes, scales, and phrasing? This is the quintessential epitome of beauty.

  • I need to learn this song on the piano........AWESOME!!!!!!

  • @dankerer I agree, but it's good on piano too. A diffrent swing to it.

  • 0:23 Bach Spirit walk by and Dissapears once again
