This is part 1 of Story Book Forest at Idlewild Park in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. Story Book Forest opened in 1956 and features many favorite characters from children's fairy tales. Video taken on July 3, 2008.
ah storeybook forest thought it was a nice park when i was young nicely built place but pa has better things than this there . just isnt exiting as an adult /. it was basically a roadside attraction. kind of dull now but at least its still thee now.
i was watching this thinking " i dont remember this" and " this actually looks quite good" then i heard the accents and realised it wasnt the scottish version of the park. you have to check out our version in aberdeen, its pish ! lol
My grandparents used to take us there in the early/mid 70s. What a wonderful place it was. I've lived in Chicago my entire life but I hope to get back there one day .
Thanks for posting this video. There are so few Storybook Forests left these days and I'm glad I got to see one for the first time. There were quite a few of these places in Florida (where I live). Unfortunately, they were all closed by 1974 when Walt Disney World opened in 1972. I was born in Coral Gables, FL in 1974, a farming comuntiy at that time just south of Miami, FL. It's nice to know a little piece of American History is still around
