This is a Darkling Beetle. Poor thing, some disgusting freak killed it.
They are beneficial predators. In gardens, they eat snails.

No it was not killed. it just does not move during the video. Later it walked away and we lost it.

Could be. I have never seen a bug like this one. This thing is weird. I have been in the woods and worked outside for years in this area and never have seen one before. The question remains, what is it?
