At the 2009 BCCP Cosmology Workshop, Cal Teach student assistant Diane Jang did an activity on the Acceleration of Gravity using the Vernier Logger Pro Program. Students learned how to graph objects and find the acceleration caused by gravity. The students made short videos of themselves throwing balls back and forth. The videos were imported into Vernier where the data was graphically analyzed to determine the value of g (gravity) on earth.
At the BCCP cosmology workshops, prominent physicists present the current scientific view of the history and structure of the universe. Students and teachers learn how scientists do research in cosmology and particle physics, and teachers share physics lessons:
