So long story I bought the car with motor taken out, he gave me two blocks with the car, one is supposed to eagle rods and acl bearings, the other supposebly just has bad rings he thinks. anyways I put the engine he told me to put in and it has a knock, its been a month since I bought the car took me a month to put the motor in, its been about 1 week since I got it turned on, I have turned on the car about 4 times to try figure out the sound. Ive already spent 900$ in parts and labor, Im going to be doing the rest of the work know since I got all the tools. Except torqing the heads on.
I just took the block that is supposed to be bad to get it checked, Il be taking out the block thats in the car 3/30/10 maybe 9/31. and il take that in to get it checked once its out. maybe they didnt tighten the bearings or rods or something. well il keep a update. oh once the car warms up you can hear the knock more at idle. I think cause the oil thins. I put 10-30w.
I get this noise like early morning prolly cold engine but I just keep messing with the clutch eventually it goes away when the engine heats up.
