What's the difference between the big dots and the regular dots (not the power dots) ? I was always confused about that when I played this game.

@MrGoomba909: The prize (bicycle here) changes the dots to the bigger dots when it travels over a regular dot. These bigger dots are then worth 50 points each instead of 10, but pacman slows down a little bit more when eating them, as compared with normal dots. Here's an example of trying to take advantage of this for maximum points!
