Oh that one ! That looks familiar ! I was stationed in Jacksonville,NC in Sept 2003 when it hit there. Winds of 50G65 but that was about it. It was fun nevertheless. Last one I chased since now I have a mortgage and too many bills.

I live in Phoebus, on the water at the mouth of the bay. My house and neighborhood were devastated. Most of the houses, including mine flooded and lost most of the trees. Luckily our pier was the only one that wasn't lost.

The city should have learned from Isabel enough to tear up the public parking lot and raise it a few feet with some fill. You know, there's still a canal and huge culverts under that asphalt...

I was a Police Officer with Elizabeth City during that hurricane. Its was very sad to see the amount of citizens who came out during the storm to break into local businesses and steal. It was so bad that Elizabeth City had to have three other Law Enforcement Agencies come from around the state to help us keep control of the looting. I had to move my family to keep them safe.

Oh my God that looks awful.
