  • Notice how not once did he say a thing about his own problems. This isn't what the song's about. You may have problems, they may be severe. But that's reality. I have problems too, but don't expect me to go looking for pity that I don't need. This song is about understanding the hardships of all people, not only yourself. Love, and care. Imagine yourself in the 'shoes' of another human being. Know their pain. For we all have pain. Don't go looking for sympathy, give it to others.

  • So powerful....

I have to agree on that. I learned a lot about the human condition, and empathy when my own life took a turn. Despite the tragic nature of life: There is something liberating about having to break every rule only to see that the world is still intact.

  • @TheFacelessActivist My apologies for my wording. I completely agree with you~ I'm not saying that having gone through tougher times makes you more of a person then anybody else. My frustration was pointed towards those who do exactly that. A harder past isn't a trophy that says 'I'm a bigger person then you.' If you're knowledgeable on what it's like. Use that knowledge to help others with similar issues. Don't push others away or get in their face waving that 'trophy.' We're better then that.

  • The second line is mostly the reason I'm pro-choice.

If people having worse problems justifies lesser problems: Then the most unfortunate man in the world is also the most fortunate man in the world. Which is not only paradoxical, but also stupid. You're right about how everyone has problems, but, people deal with them differently, and if someone feels better about complaining: Then let them complain. Hell, my homeland's progress is built on complaints... We know that the moment we like what we see: We've lost the battle.

  • The 29 dislikes were all from Eminem.

  • this is so true don't judge people cause u don't know what its like until you've walkd n there shoes then you'll see what its like

  • This song isn't about sympathy, it's about empathy. It's easy to say that you feel sorry for someone due to their situation, but when you truly put yourself in their shoes then you might really know what it's like to lose. It takes more to empathize than sympathize someone else, that's why most people don't accept other people's concern because in our minds others can't possibly understand what we're going through. In order to reach eachother on a more personal level we must all learn empathy.

  • Someone like you
