Only someone who doesn't know what they're doing would ever fire a blunderbuss from the shoulder. . . it's a hip-shooter. . . ugh.

@SlipKnotMaggot771 It uses black powder and is typically used with many small projectiles as apposed to a single large one. Both of which leads to less recoil than modern shotguns using slugs which doesn't knock one's shoulder out of place from what I understand. Anyone with experience with both black powder and smokeless powder firearms correct me if I'm wrong.

@whowantsabighug a blunderbuss is kinda a shotgun in some way so yea
OK, I don't know where the "it's a hip-shooter" comes into play, but no - this weapon is a repro of a 1740s "coach gun". It was loaded with a full charge (i.e. 100 grains of powder, .72cal roundball, and 3 00 buckshot). HOWEVER, the fella shooting it is about 6'7" and weighs every bit of 275lbs.
